A study just published in the Virology Journal found that the coronavirus can survive on common surfaces such as glass, stainless steel, and money for up to 28 days. The virus can survive on food and high-touch surfaces after a person infected with sneezes, coughs on the surface or touches it, and it can travel when transported among countries, cities and varies locations.
Antimicrobial Coating is one of the methods to prevent the growth, and spread of bacteria and virus on surfaces and other high-touch areas. Commercially available antimicrobial coatings are predominantly silver, copper, titanium dioxide, and antibiotics. However, the potential cytotoxicity of the chemical-based nanoparticles coatings are still of serious concern. As evidence shows, it may be harmful if used regularly or over a long period of time.
CareCoatex™ is a Bio-based antimicrobial coating developed by InnoCoatex™ technology platform. It is a safer and greener solution to prevent microbial growth on the surface. The benefits of antimicrobial coating include lasting protection against microbes; it has been scientifically proved that they provide satisfactory and continuing protection against fungi, mould and bacteria. For the duration an antimicrobial coating is covering a surface, microbials are unable to grow and survive.
CareCoatex™ aims to provide both contact killing and long-lasting disinfection with Non-toxic, Bio-compatible and Eco-friendly biomaterials-based core-shell particles. It is a safe, effective and durable coating with antibacterial and antiviral properties. It effectively and rapidly kills 99% common bacteria such as Staphyloccocus aureus, and viruses like H1N1 and HCOV-229E.
It can be easily applied by spraying under room temperature and normal conditions on various surfaces such as metals, concrete, wood, glass, plastics and textiles without changing the materials’ appearance and tactile feel.
